Once a student has been identified as a possible candidate for HARBOR Academy, the home school will arrange an Intake Conference with the student, parents, counselor/dean and HARBOR Academy representative. At the time, the Harbor Academy program, expectations and responsibilities will be explained. Students and parents are given the opportunity to ask questions about the program before the student is accepted into the program. The home school and Harbor Academy jointly make the decision to place the student at the Academy.
Once the student is accepted into Harbor Academy, the home school administratively transfers the student to Harbor Academy, and relays transcripts, discipline reports, current class schedule, and other pertinent information.
The student and parents are invited to visit Harbor Academy prior to placement.
-
A representative of Harbor Academy must be present at all meeting to discuss this placement.
- Special educaton students are eligible for Harbor Academy; however the Academy is not an approved special education placement. The appropriateness of placement at the Regional High School will be considered on a case by case basis. At no time will Special Education enrollment exceed 10% of our student population.
