About the event
Participants will synthesize information and develop a deep understanding of how the current mental health crisis is impacting the education system in the United States and in their own schools; critique "emotional literacy" and how it is explicitly connected to teaching and learning; assess "emotional safety" and how it is explicitly connected to teaching and learning in their school; and evaluate best practices that "humane" or compassionate leaders leverage in order to create culturally inclusive learning spaces that center the humanity of all people and determine where these practices are/are not in their school.
The session will run from 8:30am - 12:30 pm. Full administrator academy credit with about 3 hours of pre-work before attending this academy. Â Pre-work material will be coming from the presenter. Your attendance is required for the duration of this academy to receive credit.
To participate in the virtual academy, you must have Internet access, a web camera, a microphone and a Google account.
