About the event
Digging Into Writing with The Writing Revolution 2.0 - Facilitator: Dr. Erika Lukasik
Supporting writing with explicit instruction has been a topic many districts, schools, and teachers discuss. Programs tend to give children tasks or expect them to start writing long-form writing before they have the basics.
Writing is an essential literacy component as outlined in the Illinois Comprehensive Literacy Plan that is a key factor in processing our thinking, solidifying comprehension, and building new knowledge. All content areas should be incorporating writing into their learning plans and this tool is a fantastic way to weave in consistent practice, build from foundational writing skills to more complex tasks through content learning, and give students the lessons they need to become confident writers.

Audience: K-12 Content Area and Classroom Teachers
