About the event

Unlocking Content through Literacy -  Facilitator: Dr. Erika Lukasik


The purpose of this session is to empower educators to integrate literacy practices across all content areas by using strategies from Teaching Reading Across the Day. Participants will explore how vocabulary, questioning, and text-based discussion can deepen student understanding in subjects beyond ELA. Through interactive activities and examples, educators will learn how to support students in making sense of complex ideas and apply literacy tools to analyze content topics and ideas. By the end of the session, participants will be equipped with practical strategies to strengthen reading, writing, and thinking across the curriculum.
