Virtual: Four Hours from 8:30am - 12:30pm and Two Hours Independent Application.
This six-hour Administrator Academy provides Illinois school and district leaders with the knowledge and tools to lead with intentionality and equity in multilingual settings. Participants will explore the legal foundations of multilingual education, analyze effective instructional leadership practices aligned to WIDA standards, and develop actionable plans to build inclusive systems that ensure equitable access and success for multilingual learners.
Through a combination of research-based frameworks, interactive activities, and reflective dialogue, administrators will learn how to observe, support, and sustain high-quality instruction for multilingual learners across content areas.
Pre-session preparation:
Participants will utilize one hour to review ISBE Multilingual Guidance-www.isbe.net/multilingual demographics, and write less then or up to one page reflection on current systems and practices supporting multilingual learners in their school and/or district.
