Chief Comprehensive Educational Services Officer < Back STEVE BOGREN Chief Comprehensive Educational Services Officer sbogren@west40.org Steve has been in education for over 42 years. Before joining West40 in 2017, he was the principal at Hillside Elementary School for 19 years. There, he fostered a collaborative environment and implemented a successful School Improvement Plan and District Strategic Plan. Bringing MAWI Learning to support the Social/Emotional needs of the students was one highlight of his tenure. Throughout his administrative career, Steve has presented at many state and national education conferences. Steve also served as a New Principal Mentor and was the president of the West40 Governing Board. Steve is a compliance expert who helps ensure that school facilities in West Suburban Cook County are safe, secure, and meet the standards set by the state for students, faculty, and staff. As West40’s Chief of Comprehensive Educational Services Officer, he oversees a team that conducts both Health Life Safety and Compliance visits for all 40 districts, which includes 152 schools. In addition, he oversees and conducts over 120 Non-Public School Recognition visits each year. His latest initiative is developing and implementing the School Safety and Threat Assessment Team (STAT) This team is fortunate to have experts in the field conduct a myriad of supports and trainings for schools and organizations that reach far beyond just the West40 area. < Back LEXINGTON FRONT ENTRANCE Door 1S Arrival & Parking The facility features a gated parking lot accessible via two main entrances: Primary Entrance: Located at the corner of Bataan Dr and S Fourth Ave . Secondary Entrance: Located on S Fifth Ave , mid-block between Bataan Dr and Lexington St. Designated Parking: Secure parking is available within the gated lot, with a path leading around the building to the street-side entrance. Building Entrance Location: The Safe School entrance is located on the south side of the building, facing Lexington St . Identification: Look for the recessed entrance under the stone header labeled "LEXINGTON SCHOOL." Buzz the doorbell to the right of the door for entry. Accessibility Features Ramps: There are accessibility ramps located on either side of the door to provide easy access to the entrance landing. School Safety and Threat Assessment Specialist < Back RANDY BRAVERMAN School Safety and Threat Assessment Specialist rbraverman@west40.org Randy has 38 years of managing security operations in various roles, including as a law enforcement officer, Director of Security and Campus Safety, and currently as a School Security and Threat Assessment Specialist. Randy has overseen full-scale emergency crisis exercises and coordinated the efforts of local, county, and state authorities, military forces, hospitals, and school personnel within these exercises. An Emergency Prepardness Specialist, Randy conducts vulnerability assessments using ALPHA(TM) vulnerability assessment methodology and provides technical assistance for emergency and crisis plans for school districts, municipalities, and corporations. Randy is an instructor for the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board Executive Institute: Illinois School and Campus Training Program. Additionally, Randy serves on the Threat Assessment Group ITAG FBI committee and the Homeland Security Prevention Group. Previous Next
